Being carefree and enjoying these warm months can become very overwhelming for those struggling with mental health issues. In this blog we will discuss some of our favourite tips to keep your mental health positive and light this summer.
Try a new activity. Summer is all about having fun and being outdoors, so taking up a new activity is the perfect excuse to not only get the most of these sunny days, but also helps release endorphins from moving around and being active.
This takes us on nicely to exercise. Exercise can be daunting at first for everyone, we've all been there. Don't put too much pressure on yourself to start, although being active correlates to a positive mental health. You could start by going on scenic walks, or enjoying YouTube videos. A healthy body most of the time equals a healthy mind.
Surround yourself with loved ones. Being with people who love and care about you will help to improve your mindset by simply enjoying their company. Being around positive energy generally helps rather than being surrounded with an unsupportive network.
Focus on your strengths and build your self-confidence. Confidence starts within, and with dressing in your unique way for example, you will be able to truly express yourself. Get creative with fashion and build a network of people who love the same things as you. It will be easier to have a positive mental attitude amongst those who share similar interests.
